An essential book for any serious student of mythology and the gods and goddesses of Ancient Egypt. Extremely comprehensive and informative, and contains many of the lesser-known deities with many name variants not included in other similar directories.

Richard Wilkinson is Professor and Director of the University of Arizona Egyptian Expedition, and has written "The Complete Temples of Ancient Egypt" and co-authored "The Complete Valley of the Kings" with Nicholas Reeves.

Robert Armour is professor emeritus of English at Virginia Commonwealth University. He has written or edited 6 books.

This publication re-tells some of the better known myths in an easy to understand style, and contains information not usually found in other similar books. A welcome addition to any personal library where ones interests lies in the gods of ancient Egypt and the myths that lie behind some of the great festivals.

Many interesting mono-chrome illustrations, an edition revised by Peter A. Clayton, and Egyptologist and writer.

A useful book covering the most important of Egyptian gods and goddesses together with their symbols, a book best used in conjunction with some other more detailed work. Does cover some unusual points not mentioned in similar publications.

A good beginners book, written in an easy to understand style.

This is an essential book for anyone interested in 'reading' Egyptian art and what it means. The Book contains a complete list of hieroglyphic signs and a glossary. Also very useful when used with Egyptian Mythology.

Richard H. Wilkinson lectures in Ancient and Egyptian culture and Egyptian hieroglyphs at the University of Arizona, and is also author of the companion to this volume "Symbol and Magic in Egyptian Art".

Sir E. A. Wallis Budge was former keeper of Egyptian and Assyrian Antiquities in the British Museum and author of a host of books on Egyptology. Legends of the Egyptian gods contains 9 translations with hieroglyphs of 9 of the major myths, for example The Legend of the Creation, and the Legend of the Destruction of Mankind.

An invaluable book re-published (2207) from the original work, and of particular interest to those with knowledge of or studying hieroglyphs, and of course, all those interested in the major legends of Egypt.
